Ayaan Hirsi Ali is an inspiring woman and tireless critic of Islam; especially its subjugation of women, despite the many death threats she receives. For her own protection, her whereabouts is always kept secret and she must travel with a security team. She grew up in a Muslim household and culture, so knows what she’s talking about. She suffered genital mutilation as a young girl and later ran away to escape a forced marriage.
There is some criticism of Ayaan based on lies she now admits to making when seeking political asylum in Holland. That was a desperate time for her and I don’t fault her for her youthful foibles. Everybody lies at some time or another. She has also faced criticism for “extreme” statements. Whether or not she actually made inappropriate or erroneous remarks, I don’t know. What I do know is that I agree with all the opinions and assertions I’ve seen her make in her many videos. I admire her immensely.
